Have a Little Something to Eat-Felecia Tucker

Finding quality time to spend with our children can be challenging. Work, school, homework, or even extra curricular activities can still our time. Our children need to express themselves and as parents we need to listen.

Commit to sitting down and having dinner with your children two to three days a week. Take the time to find out what’s going on in their world. Ask questions and allow them the time to express themselves. A great way for children to develop effective communication skills is to allow them to talk and ask them thought provoking questions. These conversations aren’t easy in the beginning if it’s something they are not accustomed to, but it gets easier and they look forward to that time.

Developing our future leaders begin at home with conversation. Believe it or not we can learn a lot from our children. Eat up and enjoy the conversation!
